Modern Slavery Act
This statement is made on behalf of APG Cash Drawer Ltd (APG) pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the ‘Act’), and constitutes our group’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the year ending 31 December 2021.
OUR BUSINESS AND STRUCTURE
APG buys and manufactures cash drawers for distributers and resellers worldwide. We are headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA and have registered offices and branches in the UK, France, Belgium, Spain and Germany.
OUR SUPPLY CHAINS
Our supply chains include cash drawers, sheet metal, fixings, electronic components, PCBs, cable assemblies, cardboard, packaging, publishing and printing services, IT services, training providers and consultants, marketing and PR services. We have reviewed the risks that these supply chains can present and whilst we consider our exposure to modern slavery to be limited, we expect our suppliers and contractors to demonstrate a zero-tolerance approach to exploitation.
TAKING ACTION
As part of our procurement process in 2021, we engaged in dialogue with our suppliers with the objective of not only raising supplier awareness, but also to seek assurance of their understanding of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and how it pertains to them. We continue to gather data from our key suppliers and will be reporting our findings in a statement at the beginning of 2023.
OUR PROCUREMENT STAFF
Our procurement team are very much aware that modern slavery is a global problem that affects us all. They are aware of the cognitive pitfalls facing junior staff who could unwittingly become part of the cycle. Through CIPS training and qualifications over 2021 we have taken steps to mitigate those risks.
